We’ve visited Walt Disney World from San Francisco, Ohio, Tampa, and Orlando. Each experience was different because of that. Here are some of our reports:
DISNEY WORLD REPORTS (from Orlando)
May 2007: Flower & Garden Festival
Our first trip to WDW together was in 1999 during the Flower & Garden Festival. This was our last Flower & Garden Festival before moving back west.
A favorite hangout as locals was Ft. Wilderness. Great trails, atmosphere, peace and quiet, and tasty food.
January 2007: Saratoga Springs
Our favorite DVC property and destination to walk to from Downtown Disney when the parks are busy.
December 2006: Christmas Outings
Christmas at WDW means crowds. As locals, we sought out quieter options.
Another special event at the Food & Wine Festival that’s a favorite of ours.

Our favorite event at WDW – one we couldn’t pass up each year we lived in Florida.
August 2006: Celebrating the Last Day of August at Boma
One of the special opportunities we had living outside the gates of WDW was being able to enjoy a special meal at WDW on a whim – as long as we could get an ADR at the last minute.
August 2006: Couples Mandara Spa Package at the Dolphin
Our 10th wedding anniversary couples massage at the Dolphin at WDW.
August 2006: Rich’s Birthday Dinner at Jiko
Summer birthdays mean celebrating inside an air-conditioned fabulous restaurant, such as Jiko.
July 2006: Kathy’s Birthday Celebration and Dinner at Artist Point
I was working for Disney during my birthday, which was an interesting one-of-a-kind experience. This was also my one and only birthday celebration while living this close to WDW.

We have a tradition of going out for a special dinner at a special restaurant around Christmastime. The Flying Fish at Walt Disney World was our choice this year.

Shopping at Downtown Disney at WDW is fabulous at Christmas.
November 2005: Sweet Sunday at Food & Wine Festival
A special event at the Food & Wine Festival – simply fabulous.
September 2005: Spontaneity at Epcot
An impromptu trip to Epcot.
August 2005 Rich’s Wlderness Lodge Birthday Trip
An overnight birthday trip at Wilderness Lodge at Walt Disney World to celebrate Rich’s birthday.
July 2005: Soarin’ Over California Birthday Trip
When we lived in Tampa, we often took day trips to Walt Disney World, especially for special occasions such a birthday.
May 2005: Flower & Garden Festival
Meeting up with Bob & Larry (aka LlaffnPlace & Uncle Bob on Passporter) at Le Cellier during the Flower & Garden Festival at Epcot at WDW.
March 2005: Return to Rose and Crown
An impromptu visit to Epcot and lunch at Rose and Crown.
February 2005: The Tower of Terror
Challenging our fears by riding the Tower of Terror at Studios at WDW.
November 2004: Thanksgiving Week Christmas Kickoff
Rich’s parents took the train from Philadelphia to Tampa to spend Thanksgiving week with us. We managed to fit in a little Disney to see the Christmas decorations.

May 1999: Our First Trip to Walt Disney World
This is the trip that started our migration to Florida from California. We barely scratched the surface on the one-week trip and realized we had to live outside the gates of WDW to truly experience everything we wanted to.
